Service: - CONFIDENTIAL Marriage Certificate or Duplicate License change
This appointment is for people that have already been married and are seeking proof of that marriage or couples that need to obtain a duplicate license. This appointment is not for couples planning to get married. Please see the "marriage license" appointment type if you are planning to get married. Couples scheduling the wrong appointment type will be asked to reschedule. 

Our office does not provide copies of Public Marriage Certificates. Public Marriage Certificates are provided by the Fresno County Recorder (559-600-3476). Please verify what type of marriage you have prior to scheduling. If you had witnesses sign your marriage license, you had a public license. 
 

Complete the Confidential Marriage Certificate Application and bring to your appointment along with payment. Form must be signed in presence of Fresno County Clerk Staff. Applications are also available in our office. 

Fees: $17.00 per copy (payable to Fresno County Clerk).   If no record of the marriage is found, the $17.00 fee will be retained for searching the record (Health & Safety Code Section 103650) and a Certificate of No Record will be issued to the applicant. 


Duplicate License: The person who solemnized a marriage shall obtain a duplicate license for a license which is lost, damaged, or destroyed after the marriage but prior to registration, or deemed unacceptable for registration by the local registrar (county recorder or county clerk). A duplicate license may be issued only to the person who solemnized the marriage when the original license has been lost, destroyed, or is unacceptable for registration, e.g., registered in wrong county, illegible, whiteout, erasures, etc. The duplicate cannot be used to make other corrections to the license under any circumstances. Fee: $8.


Our office does not accept $100 currency or mobile payments.
