TRANSLATION CERTIFICATION

The County Clerk verifies Translators/Interpreters Declarations only completed by a translator/interpreter registered with one of the following, Certified/Registered Interpreters for the California Courts or the American Translators Association Accredited Translators. Our office does not certify or evaluate the translation itself, only if the translator/interpreter is registered. Our office does not translate documents.

Our office often receives translations submitted by individuals that are not properly certified by the California Courts or ATA. These translations will not be certified by our office. Our office recommends that customers seeking translation services verify the registration of the translator using one of the links below.

·    Certified/Registered Interpreters for the California Courts

·    American Translators Association Accredited Translators. Please note that while companies can be members of the ATA this membership does not automatically mean their employees are accredited. The translator must be individually accredited by ATA.

 Translation Certification Service can be done in person or by mail.

Submit the following:

·    Original document in the foreign language

·    Document translated into English

·    Original and Complete Declaration and Certification form with signature acknowledged by a notary public.

·    Fee of $10 per document.

AUTHENTICATIONS

Authentications only certify the authenticity of the signature of the official who signed the document, the capacity in which that official acted, and when appropriate, the identity of the seal or stamp which the document bears. The authentication does not certify the contents of the document.

Cost: $2.25 per signature. Check, credit/debit, cash acceptable. We do not accept $100 currency or mobile payments.

Document must be an original or certified copy that was issued in Fresno County.
